Iliada Charalambous' ongoing research revolves around the notion of assembling (from Jonas Staal) and on forms of popular and political education. Stemming from these investigations, she formulated the bi-weekly study group Reading Counterpower together with Serda Demir, which dives into the lessons and ideologies stemming from revolutionary movements across times and territories.

Iliada also developed the ongoing Assembling in Resistance, a programme of political education shaped around her work What Are Your Flowers?, found as part of the artworks and learning objects located at Bak, Basecamp for Tactical Imaginaries (Utrecht). This artwork and space of assembly is activated during gatherings for collective study, and was inspired by what Amilcar Cabral termed as 'militant education’,where the aim is to learn from a variety of movements of the past, yet with a focus and in collaboration with currently active movements. Through a process of collaboration, trust-building and of mutual commitment to anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist and anti-fascist politics, Assembling in Resistance has developed a weekly study programme with active organisations from and with whom we attempt to learn political theory that not only gives us the tools to identify the workings and problems of our current ecocidal and genocidal system, but that can also provide the tools and mindset to build up strength, comradeship and a world based on People's power.

Iliada Charalambous is a Cypriot visual artist working with the notion of assembling and collective, political education. Through her work, she engages with a variety of communities in thinking about the notion of the commons, methods and tools for collective organising, and potential forms of resistance.

Charalambous is currently working on the programme Assembling in Resistance at Bak, Basecamp for Tactical Imaginaries. She has recently worked with Serda Demir on the series True Counterpower at the Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven), and is leading the biweekly political educational programme Reading Counterpower at Gemaal Op Zuid (Rotterdam). She has completed the Fellowship for Situated Practice at Bak, Basis Voor Actuele Kunst (2023-24).
