For this second session, artist and researcher ro heinrich was joined by artist Reza Mirabi, and together they guided us through another profound exploration rooted in ro’s ongoing collaborative research and film project, Weaving conversations at the end of the world as we know it - involving Erin Manning, Tyson Yunkaporta, fabrice dubosc, and artist initiatives like Reschooling With, among others.

Following an introduction by ro and Reza, we immersed ourselves in ro’s evolving filmic work, The Being of Relation. Through the lens of relational ontology and process philosophy, we contemplated the [un]learning of modernity’s fractured notion of the individual (separate from the world), and instead embraced the entangled, interdependent nature of existence. The session continued with a moment of relational listening and sounding, where we attuned to our acoustic surroundings, allowing our bodies to become part of the emergent orchestration of space. We closed by exchanging reflections sparked by text fragments that each participant drew from a selection thoughtfully curated by ro and Reza.

weaving stories is a series by ARIAS in which an artist-researcher is invited to share their practice unfolding over several sessions together with participants; all are welcome to join.
